Additional Restroom Facilities for Large Church Events

Twice a year, a church East Dallas hosts an inner-city community outreach event that attracts hundreds of guests on to their mid-sized facility. Their parking lot is filled with inflatables, a stage for live music, a petting zoo, face painting booths, grills, and a food line. These components provide lots of fun for the entire family and raise awareness of their ministry in the city. But there is one other detail that you have to look closely to see: the port-a-john units in the corner of their parking lot.

Because the church is located in an older building, the inside restroom facilities are a bit lacking. The interior of the building is used only by volunteers during the event, and space is at a premium. It is in no way practical for guests to use the inside bathrooms, but the church doesn’t want anyone to leave early just because they’ve got to go. They know that by spending a little bit of money to provide portable toilets, they are increasing the odds that people will stay longer at their outreach event, and these people will also enjoy the event more than they would if their mind is consumed with thoughts of finding a bathroom. They don’t need a full-on comfort station on wheels, just two small and simple porta potties in the corner that meet the basic needs of their guests and allow their event to function at maximum capacity

Bathrooms for Outdoor Art or Music Festivals

The Denton Arts & Jazz Fest attracts hundreds to thousands of visitors to the North Texas anchor city each year. Since the event is held outside, porta potties are of course an excellent solution to the bathroom needs of visitors. This is an established event, so this key component is likely on the agenda each year, and just sort of “happens” without much thought. But if you’re planning an art or music festival in your own North Texas or Texoma community, you are likely so focused on the key aspects of it (the art and music) that you haven’t given much thought to what will happen when guests need to use the restroom.

Think about it this way: If your guests have to use the facilities and none are available, they will have no other choice but to leave the event. Chances are, they might not come back, which means that there is a chance that your vendors will not make as much money as they would have made had those guests stayed. As you can see, you can’t go wrong with providing porta potties, trailer units, or luxurious mobile comfort stations at your upcoming art or music festival. The cost is relatively inexpensive, and the return is great, as guests will stay longer and have a more enjoyable experience than if they had to leave early in search of a bathroom. Since most art festivals are held in downtown areas and many local businesses don’t have public restrooms, it’s critical that you think about how you will provide alternative facilities. But because you’ve got an event to plan, just call A1 Little John and let us take care of this. You focus on the art and music; we’ll make sure your guests don’t have to leave to find a bathroom.
